We started DotVA because we needed it.

DotVA is built around a simple frustration. Across a handful of Australian small businesses, our founder was watching capable owners spend 20+ hours a week on admin they shouldn't have been touching. The good agencies were either too expensive, too slow, or treated VAs as interchangeable. DotVA is the agency we wished existed.

What we believe

  • Hiring a VA shouldn't be a gamble.

    Freelancer marketplaces and Upwork-style platforms put the recruiting risk on you. We carry that risk instead. We vet, we onboard, we manage. If it doesn't work, we fix it or find a replacement.

  • AI doesn't replace a VA. It multiplies one.

    Our VAs use Claude, ChatGPT and purpose-built tools every day. A VA augmented with AI can do 1.5-2x what a VA could do five years ago. That's the wedge that makes our pricing work.

  • Australian small business owners deserve clear pricing.

Who is behind DotVA?

Jenn Yang, director, based in Melbourne. DotVA is operated by Boring Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 67 671 943 758). Jenn personally meets every candidate before they reach a shortlist and takes every discovery call herself - founder access is the whole model, not a launch-phase thing we'll grow out of.

Where are DotVA and its VAs based?

The agency is Australian, run from Melbourne. The VAs are in Manila and the broader Philippines, working Australian business hours from verified home offices. You contract with the Australian entity in AUD; we handle the VA's engagement on our side.

How is DotVA different from other VA agencies?

Three things we can point at rather than claim: pricing published on the site ($12-35/hr AUD by tier) when most agencies quote by consultation; AI training (Claude, ChatGPT) built into every VA's first week; and the founder as your principal contact instead of an account manager. Deliberately small: 87+ Australian placements since 2024, founder-led, with a Filipino delivery team and an editorial desk behind the content on this site. We'd rather stay the agency where the founder knows every client than become the one with a ticket queue.
